Are you wondering how we handle your personal data? Steglan Management AB and its group companies believe it is important that you feel secure entrusting us with your personal data. That is why we would like to explain what data we collect and why. Naturally, all processing is carried out in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Personal data and how we handle them

By “personal data” or “data,” we mean the information we hold and collect about you as an existing or potential customer, a newsletter subscriber, or a visitor to our website. Personal data is any information that can be linked—directly or indirectly, in combination with other data—to a living natural person. This means that everything from names and contact details to IP addresses or interests can be considered personal data. Any action taken regarding your personal data counts as the processing of personal data, whether performed automatically or manually.

Processing thus includes, for example, collection, recording, storage, adaptation, retrieval, use, disclosure, dissemination, alteration, erasure, or destruction. To process your personal data, we must rely on a basis permitted by applicable data protection regulations (GDPR)—a so-called legal basis. While there are several legal bases available, all processing of personal data by Steglan Redovisning is based on one of the following two: “Consent” or “Performance of a contract.” In short, these mean either (1) that you have given your consent to the processing or (2) that the processing is necessary for us to fulfill a contract with you.

Subscription to newsletters, email updates, and webinars
When you choose to subscribe to our brands newsletter or register for webinars on our website, you complete a form providing your contact details. By completing this form, you consent to our storage of your personal data and agree to receive—via email—our recurring newsletter, information regarding relevant news and guides, and product information from our brands.

Expression of interest at our websites
If you are considering becoming a client of our brands, or wish to ask questions about how our services work, you can fill out a contact form on the website. By providing your details, you enable us to contact you with further information. In this instance, we process your contact details to facilitate communication and/or initiate a client relationship with you. Should a business relationship not materialize, we retain your personal data to provide you with relevant financial news, newsletters, and information about new products, unless you request that we delete the data—for example, by unsubscribing from our email communications.

Once you become a client of our brands, we process your data and personal data to identify you as a user and to manage and deliver services in accordance with your agreement.

Who has access to your data?

We may disclose your information if we deem it necessary to fulfill an agreement, develop our service, or otherwise advance our processes. The parties that may gain access to your data include: Subcontractors and others working for our brands.  Our brands engages certain trusted third parties—and in some cases, companies within our own group—to provide, improve, protect, and market our services. This means that these parties—whether located within or outside the EU/EEA—also require certain information about you as a customer. However, third parties may not use data concerning you for any purpose other than those specified in the terms governing our relationship with them. Regarding partners outside the EU/EEA, specific safeguards are implemented to ensure the secure handling of personal data.

Other applications
You may, by providing your own consent, grant third parties access to your information. Their use of your data will then be governed by their respective privacy policies and terms and conditions.

Authorities, laws, and regulations

We are required to disclose data—such as to the police—when requested to do so in accordance with the law or an authority’s decision. We may also disclose your information to third parties if we determine that such disclosure is necessary to (1) comply with the law; (2) protect a person from death or serious bodily injury; or (3) prevent fraud or abuse involving our brands or our users. When our brands organizes webinars, seminars, or other events jointly with partners, we may—where applicable—share registration lists and the data provided during registration with the co-organizing partner.

Others
If you have provided your consent, we may also disclose your data to companies, organizations, or individuals outside our brands in situations other than those described above. However, this applies only if done at your own request.

How we protect data & how long we keep them

We are constantly working to protect our customers' privacy. We are continuously developing new security features to safeguard the data of our customers, partners, and other stakeholders.

Our brands retains your personal data for as long as a customer relationship exists or for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. If you are no longer a customer, we will delete your information whenever possible; however, please note that (1) there may be a delay in deletion from our servers and backups, and (2) we may retain information if necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Personal data regarding individuals who have expressed interest or subscribed to our newsletter is processed by us until you request its deletion—for example, by unsubscribing from our email communications.

Your rights

Certain processing of your data is based on your consent, which you have the right to withdraw at any time. However, to provide our services to you as a customer, we need to process and handle your data. If you choose not to provide your data to us, we may not be able to provide the services you desire. In accordance with applicable data protection legislation, you also have the right to, at any time: request access to the personal data being processed about you; request the correction of incorrect data; request that our brands cease processing and delete your personal data; request a restriction on our handling of your personal data; request that we share your data with a third party; or object to our processing of personal data.
